I truly love it, when your project is actually getting a shape. I’ve worked on many projects by now though this was quite a unique one… As you could have read in my previous post, a customer came with the ideas and the look for this bag. We’ve found some amazing leather for the bag and for the interior. For now, I want to show you already a few sneak peeks of the triangle bag.
Sharp or soft shapes?
All the sewing is done, but I do have to do some serious finishing. Triangles are sharp shapes but this bag will have a softer side too. The complete bag is sewed inside out and will be turned at the end. This will result in a softer looking triangle bag!
Edge paint, layer by layer by layer.
A bag is mainly a function accessory though it should be pretty too. And if possible as beautiful on the inside as on the outside! Therefore, before I turn the bag, I have to finish some of the edges. I mixed my own edge paint to match with the interior and outside leather. A little bit of black, white and brown gave the perfect taupe color (just like my nail polish haha)
What’s next… ?
For this bag, I need some more layers of edge paint on the inside, top and on the inside of the handles and a very big ribbon! I truly hope the bag will be as the customer imagined it to be (or even better ;)). Soon some final pictures will be taken!
