I just can’t believe it. My time here in Boston is almost over. The experience of the Bostonian way of life will be part of my short history here as visiting student. But there will always be a next adventure somewhere on the horizon. During my stay here I’ve seen the snow for over a meter high, the sun at 30 degrees, the trees blossom in the most amazing colors and got enough inspiration for a lifetime. I gained so much energy from such an inspirational place, creating plans in my head, and can’t wait to start on some real leather craft projects again.
What happened to the travel bag?
You might think, what about your travel bag. Apparently, I did forget to pack some crucial hardware parts of the bag… and by the time it would be shipped, I would almost be back. Nevertheless, that means I will have a few projects to start right away when I get home. And ofcourse I will show you the rest of the process in a new post!
Best Leather experiences
Right at the start of my stay, I visited the leather district of Boston. At first, I thought it would provide a home to lots and lots of lovely leather shops and workshops. Though when I arrived I was a bit disappointed. There was nothing left, until… I found a few signs and a lovely little atelier. I wrote more about it in this post.
Tandy Leather is a shop you must have visited at least once. It gave me the chance to see some more of New England, the most-well-known leather shop but also to buy an amazing DIY kit! I don’t know why but I used loved to see how the baseball came together stitch by stitch. And I love the baseball stitch! You can implement it in so many different projects! The post is here if you’ve missed it.
Besides Tandy and the leather district in Boston, I loved to learn so much more about the culture, the leather history of different parts of the country and their most typical leather products. I love to learn new information, gather it and write a little about it. I hope that the Native American Leathercraft and the Western American leather craft gave you as much inspiration as it did to me.
A special bag for a special city. I’ve been searching for a true Boston bag to add to my bag collection. I did not find one… not a true Bostonian bag. Well, maybe it is best this way… I will still be able to use it as inspiration and I have a reason to come back ;)!
Boston tips and tricks as a (temporary) local?
I’ve seen so many amazing places in Boston, did some awesome activities as a tourist and as a (temporary) local. Though since this is more a leather blog… not sure if you are interested in these? Well, if so… please let me know and I will share my love for Boston with you!
I don’t want to leave but I also can’t wait to be back home… both a good sign I think. Thanks for sticking with me even if you were not that interested in all those posts about Boston 😉 haha. Sorry for the overload but I just love to write about my leather and style experiences wherever they are… until the next adventure my leather and style lovers!
