Last year it crept up to me, but I created an amazing DIY (last minute) for Mother’s day. Though this year I know already I will have to say “I’m sorry mama” since I won’t be there this years mother’s day. Usually, my siblings and I cook for her that day, or bring some flowers or get/create something small for her. She loves it but all she ever asked for is just for us to be together.
Since I won’t be there this year, we will have to pick another day for mothers day. Luckily there are 355 days left. Nevertheless, this day should not pass by unnoticed and I figured, maybe there are more people like me and my mom, traveling, living abroad or just not able to be together. So what about a little gift that could be sent in an envelope; a mailbox DIY?
I did some digging in my archives and there are actually some nice DIY that would fit in an envelope!
A few DIY Ideas from the past and a few new inspirations for the future:
A bouquet of leather flowers
Do you remember the post of a new technique I tried, the gusset clutch with leather flowers. What if you would just make a little bouquet of flowers, a broach, bracelet or maybe even earrings.
A leather clochette for her favourite bag
Inspired by the clochettes of Hermes, you just have to make your own clochette. And the best thing is you can make one matching or contrasting every bag your mom or you own!
A tassel is always faboulas
As you could have read in my perivous post in the american leather styles series, fringes and tassels are never out of style. That is also something my mother taught me, and her mother to her. You can follow the fashion trends as much as you like but you should always have a few time less pieces!
A key chain with lots of love
Every time your mother gets her keys she will be reminded by the love you’ve put in this little heart keychain. Eventhough it’s a valentines DIY post I am sure she will love one aswell!
A travel tag or pasport cover
If you’re mom likes to travel a lot, a travel tag might be the best gift ever. She will thank you for the gift, but also for the return of her luggage if it ever gets lost! She will always have a little creation of yours with her.
When ever we’ve picked a new date, I think I will create a new little DIY. Not one of these since not all ideas are shared with you yet… It would have spoiled the surpise ;). How do you spoil your mom for Mother’s Day ? Do you also make a little something for her like you use to do when you were a child?
