It’s been a week since fashion month is over. All shows have shown their latest trends and it is time to evaluate. At the moment there is a snow storm in Boston so shops are closed so are schools, restaurants etc. Almost nothing is open, so leaving me with no other option than to work from home. But since I can’t lunch with my friends and colleagues, I am al by myself today… time to curl up on the couch and do some fashionable research. What will be the bag trends for next fall/winter?
This time there were only two really outstanding ones, in my opinion. further, a lot of trends will carry on throughout this year. Let’s make a list and see for yourself which one your favorite is.
The (lunch) Box – bag
I actually love this new trend! There you can do so much with it, as long as it has a square or rectangular shape. The perfect time to refresh or learn you box stitching techniques, which I covered last year in this post “the watch box”. And I just to improve myself I should give it another try!
The Not-So-handbag
This trend has been seen before but not as notable in the previous fashion weeks. This trend is a description of everything that’s a bag but not a handbag. You could wear it around your neck, or as a waist belt. You could even find them as a fanny pack but also the more chic versions of it.
Previously seen but still up-to-date trends this fall/winter:
- miniature: we’ve seen this trend in the spring/summer of 2017 already but is still one of the favorites!
- bold hardware: just as we’ve seen in the spring/summer of 2018 bold hardware is hot! That means you can wear your bold hardware bag all year round, this year at least.
- round bags: we’ve seen a lot of circle bags last year, as I have made my own in this post, but now we take it one step further. Literally a round bag! You could take your basketball with you 😉 …
Which one of these trends is your favorite fall/winter trend? I think mine is definitely the (lunch) box-bag trend! Let’s see… what designs could we think of? Well, as you know I will keep you in the loop! But for now, let’s continue with the travel bag (and it’s hunter green, a major trend right now!!! How perfect could it be…?)
