I am a little bit sad… I ordered new tiger thread since I almost run out of it, and it was supposed to come in just before I would literally run out of the thread for the Workbag… Apparently, my parcel disappeared… Nobody knows where it is and now I just can’t go on with the bag just now. I order the thread from a super understanding seller so we will work it out, but it will take some more time before I can continue. So time to start some more designing and this time it involves some travel.
Amazing opportunity
The name of the bag is actually kind based on the purpose of the bag. You could say, aren’t all bags for travel, since you won’t need that many bags at home… Well, I am gonna go on a new adventure. I am gonna travel to another continent for an amazing internship opportunity. This means, I will have to pack all my belongings in just one suitcase, and therefore I won’t be able to take all my leather craft tools with me.

Love to just start Sketching!
Portable to a whole new level
Since leather craft is kind of additive, and it’s my personal relax moment away from my computer I want to find a solution. I thought of all those leathercraft kit’s and then it came to my mind. “Why don’t I make a leather kit, for a little clutch, all prepared and thought trough?!” This way I can still do some leathercraft over there, but everything I need is either prepared or portable (small, like needles). Things like glue are also available over there, so that shouldn’t be a problem.
1 bag too big, let’s take 2!
So not just the fact that this bag will travel even before it’s made, I also want it to be the perfect travel bag. When I travel, I usually take a way too large bag with me, and every time I need to get my wallet or passport it will take 15 minutes to find it eventually on the bottom of my bag. That is something I want to solve… I will just take two bags with me, one large one and a small one, to keep close to me for the important stuff.

Got a piece hexagon perforated, green leather from a friend! Don’t you think it’s the perfect leather for this project?
Let’s make a travel requirement list
So what should this bag look like…?
- The bag should have enough room for some money and my passport.
- It should be theft proof
- Next, it definitely has to be stylish as well!
- Preferably timeless (but with a fashionable update possible, as written in this post)
- It should not be too big or too small
- It has to fit un-made in my suitcase
Right, well I think that’s doable don’t you think? I am gonna start sketching and preparing everything and I will keep you updated on my amazing trip!
