Finally, it took me a while to finish it but The Black Bag is done! Between all my exams, birthdays and family weekends, I squeezed in some time to work on this lovely piece of leather for months. It all began with just an idea and now having the final bag in my hands, it’s just unbelievable. You might think, but this is what you do all the time… Well, that’s true but I have never made such a big bag and I actually like the end result haha.
Since the bag is totally handmade, from the cutting to the sewing to the finishing touches, it will always have some human flaws. Since I am not a machine, I will make some mistakes. How you correct them or learn from them will make you a master one day. But while making leather products it is also difficult since you don’t always know how the hide will act, is it stretchable or very stiff. Not only because of this but since I am also quite the perfectionist, I do not always LOVE the end result. I am proud that I have made it with my two hands, but there is always room for improvement.
Show off the Black Bag!
Alright, alright enough chatting, let’s see some pictures.
Now that the black bag is done, it is time for a new project! Or maybe even two…My boyfriend is the lucky one to receive my first stationary products if he likes it or not haha. As you might know, I have already made a leather desk pad. But I want to extend my collection with a laptop case and ‘PadFolio’ (a portfolio for your notes and iPad). Between all these products for ‘him’, I also want something for ‘her’ so, check out my Instagram this week for a little sneak peak into the next DIY!
