Since October the Autumn has arrived in the Netherlands, this means rain, wind and here and there a little sunshine through all the trees giving it a magical glow.
Autumn garlands and Spider webs
When I was a child, we often went to the forest to collect chestnuts in their prickly shells and the kind-of-orange-lanterns to create an Autumn garland, decorate the tables and to make our own spider webs. Mesmerised by the colours of the leafs and the beginning of the chilly weather. Thereafter we would gather with some spicy tea and light the fireplace when it got colder or burn some candles when it got earlier dark in the evenings.
Changing colours
While thinking of the Autumn nowadays, I see all the leaves of the tree changing their colours from green to yellow, orange to bronze and finally turning dark brown. This effect can also be seen in natural leather in the sun, changing the colours from soft pink, to nude, to a natural tan, dark tan and finally almost brown. These are the colours I also like the most in leather. Sometimes I help the leather even a little further with a leather ink to colour the leather light brown, (second coat) brown or (third coat) dark brown.
Today I want you to introduce you to my new Pinterest board Autumn leather inspiration. This will be the start of our seasonal inspiration boards. I would love to hear your inspiration from all the Autumn leaves!
