When you see your laptop more often than your boyfriend, it might be time to do something in return. Especially when the exams are coming up and the papers have to be written, I find it very relaxing to craft something with my hands in my ‘relax time’. Now the Black bag is finished is it time to start a new project. And guess what, all I can think of are my desk, my laptop and lovely leather stationery items. So my new project will be a small stationery line with a padfolio and a laptop case, next to my awesome leather desk pad, of course, it’s here if you missed it.
When you know me a little, you will notice I have so many thoughts and ideas in my head. Since I have my leather sketchbook, I have turned some of them in drawings but not all of them. On this blog, I try to collect my thoughts and turn them as clearly as possible into a text (I get it if you don’t always follow my thoughts since I don’t even follow them sometimes..). But when I have a ‘customer’, I try to make a sketch or a visual design to show to them. Only then, they will be able to be a part of the design process. How to design in ten steps is already explained in these two posts (Part I & Part II) so don’t forget to check them out.
Personal padfolio design
Since we also know how to design in illustrator, I have made this design. Some wishes, of my very demanding customer, were slits for his business cards, a place to store all his notes, enough room to fit in a notebook and also protection for his tablet. Well well, alright, this is the final design. After a day ‘leather-shopping’, he found the perfect piece for his padfolio, and off I go ;).
If this design isn’t you taste, check out my leather portfolio board on Pinterest for much more inspiration! And as you know when you make your own designs, the sky is the limit. So stay tuned for the next step in my mini stationery collection.
